Lisa Ann Brown

I have been a graphic designer for over 20 years. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, I took a step back to truly examine what I wanted out of my life. I came to the conclusion that the best career for me would be one where I use my talents to promote noble causes that help make the world a better place. In pursuit of this goal, I enrolled in the Strategic Communications master’s degree program at the University of Delaware, where I focused on creating impactful campaigns aligned with my dedication to driving positive change.

Now, having earned a MA in Strategic Communication with a specialization in Digital and Social Media, I am excited to embark on a new chapter in my professional journey. My goal is to secure a position where I can use my talents to create meaningful change.

At the Maryland Department of Health, I managed the content editing for a 160-page website overhaul, enhancing clarity and strategic alignment. I created social media content for a $1.8 million vaccination campaign and developed talking points for major public health initiatives. Working closely with subject matter experts and directors, I ensured accuracy across diverse projects, from proofreading official guides to crafting public health messaging. This experience honed my ability to manage complex communication projects in a high-stakes public sector environment.

I have honed my skills in crafting engaging social media content, developed marketing campaigns, and utilized analytics tools to drive strategy. My experience as a Communications Consultant Intern at Friends of Newark Free Library allowed me to draft compelling content, increase follower engagement, and strategically plan communication initiatives to support fundraising efforts and organizational goals. My work as a Social Media Marketing Intern at DALY Computers gave me experience running successful campaigns across various platforms, managing social media channels, and analyzing data to drive decision-making.

With my rich background in graphic design and skills in strategic communication, I am excited to make a profound impact by leveraging my skills to drive positive change.
